Taxis in Shanghai...
At the taxi stand @ Arrival Hall, a Taxi driver was arguing Loudly with the airport staff... altho dressed in shirt (rolled up to elbow) and pants (rolled upto calf) he looked so fierce and like a ruffian, i would be very hesitant to board his cab. Thank goodness, we were not next in the queue. *phew*. The taxi that we got assigned to, Got seat belt but No Buckle for the rear seat passengers! And the taxi driver drove like he's racing on F1 circuit weaving in and out of the lanes!
On the Streets...
On our way to the nearby shopping mall for dinner, passed by a man who was shouting furiously to his mobile phone. At the nearby park, you can appreciate the govt's efforts in beautifying the place with sculptures, and create an 'arty' atmosphere.. but it just ruins the ambience with people chatting loudly in the park. Why do the people need to raise their voice until faces were red??
On our way back to hotel after dinner, witnessed a trio of pickpockets in action on Nanjing Rd. Initially, we were walking behind the couple (targeted by the pickpockets) who were in their own world oblivious to the world around them. We thot they were same grp of frens and were playing tricks on the young couple. Only realized that smthg was wrong when there's no reaction from the couple, and the trio has disappeared. Went up to the couple to tell them what i saw, and when he checked his sling bag, his wallet was gone! Geez... the pickpockets were so blatant when they shooed us away when we were walking too close to them.

On the last nite, thot we should swing by to The Bund to relive that romantic 1st impression we had by the river bank on our 1st trip... bad idea.. tho the sky was clear for phototaking, the place was Crowded and Noisy.. Not romantic at all.. *bleah*
The Extravagance...
The warm and gracious hosts make sure that we are well fed. :) I still like my favorites: 心太软 and 桂花糖藕 *yumz* :) And for the daily tea break, we have various varieties of mooncakes. :)
Staying on the 51/F gives you a bird's eye view of the skyline... Nice nite view with all the neon lights below. Tried to catch the sunrise ~5.30 am but didn't manage to capture the orange hue..
