Balinese Surprises

1st time in Bali. Was expecting a laidback, do nothing trip, lazing by the pool and spa. Didn't expect to be so busy! Didn't get to read much of the 2 books i brought over. Also didn't get enough sleep and actually slept through almost the entire day when we returned home! :P
We stayed at this spanish owned resort: MeliĆ” Bali at Nusa Dua. Love the island for its lush greenery, and space for privacy. The artistic, laidback lifestyle, yet everywhere you go, you get excellent service. What do you expect when 80% of the economy is geared towards tourism? :)
Wrong Time Zone
Bintan is 1hr behind us. Batam is 1hr behind. JKT is 1hr behind us. So, logically, Bali also 1hr behind, ya? We actually spent 1.5days blissfully kidding ourselves that the day is longer... and thot the Balinese people were weird:
~ The tour agent uncle was so rude... we were only 15mins late, and he didn't bother to wait for us @ the lobby.
~ The taxi driver so weird... tweaking the clock in the car to S'pore time zone
~ The hotel stuff so rude, clearing the buffet spread on the dot at 10.30am
We didn't realize until D and SL got a call from the SPA that they were 45mins late for their appointment! Thank goodness we found out our mistake, else we would've missed our flight home. We also apologized to the tour agent uncle.. he actually waited 1 hr @ the lobby for us the other day, but we were actually 75mins LATE! and this cost him a big biz of a Ubud Day Trip that we ended up booking with the hotel.
So typically Bimbo horr? :P

H2O Gym
There's a daily morning aerobics class @ the pool. My bikini top almost slipped off during the H2O Gym on the last day of our stay! The 1.5hr workout was actually quite intensive, considering that you require more effort to maintain balance in the water while doing the aerobics. Realized that you hafta be very brave, thickskinned, and Confident of your body when it comes to aqua aerobics... coz there's no much cloth to hide the excess fat when it jiggles as you move! At least @ the gym, the gymwear are cleverly designed to make you look good when you workout.
SPA
Booked 2 sessions of Spa.
1. Definition Massage (2hr) + Lavender Polish (30min)
2. Shiatsu Massage (1hr) + AloeVera VitE Bodywrap (25min)
Thot shiatsu was similar to the normal massages, just that it's pressure points instead of long strokes. So, when the therapist asked me to change into the pajamas, i was thinking to myself... how come the service at the Yhi Spa was inconsistent... coz the previous session, i didn't change into the pajamas. I Freaked out when she led me towards the outdoor pavilion, coz i was not prepared to strip au naturel outdoors! Only calmed down when she explained why it had to be outdoors, and no need to strip. *phew* But my body is still aching from the shiatsu massage... and it's already 3 weeks! *bleah*
FOOD
Bali has a wide variety of restaurants. We had a very Nice Dinner @ this cosy Italian restaurant "La Lucciola" located @ Seminyak's Kayu Aya Beach. Apparently, it's a very popular restaurant. You could even see the Huge waves in the dark, it should be very beautiful in the day. It can be pretty romantic, if you don't have crazy company for dinner who became ultra imaginative after drinking their martinis, and we ended up having morbid conversations about tsunami and terrorist attacks. *bleah* Anyhow, would Highly Recomend this restaurant. Reservation required. Enuff said.
Krispy Creme in Bali too!! :) I loved the Original Glazed version. I bought 2 dozen of doughnuts back home. D was joking that in case the meal they served onboard was not appetizing, i can try selling the doughnuts on the plane, sure sell like hotcakes. *rollz eyes* While queuing at the departure gate area, we realized that there many others who bought even more doughnuts!! Some clueless passengers must be wondering if there's a famine in S'pore!! :Pp
The Japanese restaurant [Sakura Sushi Bar & Teppanyaki] @ our resort serves good quality noodles too. We were impressed. But we think the serving portion was huge, more for angmoh appetite. So wasteful, when we couldn't finish the food.
I'll definitely be back to Bali for more. ;-)
