Tranquility in Midst of Lush Greenery
This is slightly different from our usual getaways:
For a change, it’s an R&R trip to Chiangmai, which is located in the northern mountainous region of Thailand… nowhere near the beach at all! Everywhere you turn, you see the green mountains, and the padi fields. Nice! : )
A very Rare Treat to have all (almost) the gals together on the trip without the partners and kids... and considering each others' busy schedules. Brings back memories of JC days when all of us would squeeze into 1 room to have sleepover at the hotel to celebrate christmas. :P
We had FUN in Chiangmai. We didn't exactly do alot of exciting, exotic stuff... not enough time and also because we couldn't decide what to do... elephants trekking, long-neck karen hill tribes, bamboo rafting. We booked a day tour up to Doi Inthanon (ดอยอินทนนท์), the highest peak in Thailand, which is also part of the Himalayas. It was wet and very windy at the peak, and there was no view as it was covered by the clouds. Anyway, we were wet and cold.. no mood to pose for pixs at the Napamaytanidol Chedi… It would have been a very nice, scenic place on a clear day. We managed to stop by the Vachiratharn waterfalls for some pixs. : )
For most part of the trip, we ended up doing the S'porean thing: EAT, SHOP, and SPA! Bought some stuff from Shinawatra Silk, Baan Celadon, and the night bazaar. : )
SPA was Nice too : )
Those that i've tried so far at the beach resorts, I’m usually a bit shy to try the 'open/ au naturale' concept coz got many curious pple at the beach. This one, the spa is on the top floor of the 6 storey building, and it's the only high rise building in the entire area. It's quite a nice experience to enjoy the spa with the cool breeze, and tranquil Mountain View from the valley. : )
