不能说的秘密

met up with a headhunter earlier this week... and i ended up feeling awful after that meeting :(
It's an exclusive search and the consultant only revealed the name of the Co. when we met face to face.

i felt awful that evening coz...
~ the current incumbent "X" is still in blissful ignorance
~ "X" is a fren of mine who has been pretty helpful to me when i needed assistance.
~ my chances of being shortlisted would dramatically slide down the preference ranking coz i hv very similar career background/heritage as "X".. it's now become a serious liability in this case... which should not be the case as i've always been proud of my heritage
~ the hiring mgr using such tricks also says quite abit about the leadership style/quality

I couldn't alert "X" as the headhunter kept reminding me to keep it highly highly confidential knowing the circle is ultra small. So now i 'm caught between a rock and a stone. *bleah*
Managed to offload this "不能说的秘密" to another close fren, *phew* feel slightly better now :P Also found out that word is already spreading that this particular co. is looking for a replacement. It's a matter of time the current incumbent finds out.
However, we could only pray that things would turn out well for "X" in this dog-eat-dog world...
