Splendid Spanish Sojourn

Quite an interesting trip this time round as we play by ear and go with the flow as things turn out.
1st,we missed our connecting flight from Frankfurt to Madrid. Thank goodness the next available flight was 2hrs later. Then, the luggage didn't appear on the conveyor belt for baggage claims in Madrid. Prepared for worst case scenario of not receiving luggage in the evening, we went shopping immediately after check-in! Thank goodness the luggage arrived in the evening after dinner! *phew*

Gosh! I've never visited so many monastries, cathedrals, mosques, convents within a short period of 2 weeks... and that's just what we managed to cover in Spain... all those that are classified UNESCO World Heritage sites. =) Those amazing architectures, with designs showing coexistence of christian, jewish, moorish influence.
Another 1st: Watching Bullfighting in one of the world's oldest bullrings. Once is enough... Watching 6 bulls killed by 3 metadores and their entourage within 2 hrs... no more appetite for beef for the rest of the trip. *bleah*
The most exciting part of the trip has to be in Barcelona! =) On the day we arrived, it was the UEFA Chaimpions League Final between FC Barcelona & Man U. The Barça fans were estactic when their favorite team thrashed Man U 2-0. The street below our hotel was jammed pack as they celebrate into the wee hours in the morning. The next day, we went to Camp Nou to buy the FCB jerseys, and ended up gatecrashing the team's Victory Party =)
The quirky buildings by Gaudi left a lasting impression especially the La Sagrada Familia... and Dali's Museum was fun too. =)

Yeah, it's pretty expensive... spent alot on food... and it's not even in fancy restaurants :/ And the hotels don't provide the kettle where at least we can hv own milo and cup noodles... after 1 week of tapas 2x a day, u really crave for smthg different. And the quality of Chinese restaurants also quite teruk... v. salty food. :(
Thank goodness we can rely on trusty McD's and KFC :)
