Olympics 2008 - Beijing

Five more days and it's the 2008 Olympics Games in Beijing, and the opening ceremony is scheduled @ 08.08.08, 8pm. =)
Definitely gonna stay home and watch the opening ceremony, as even the rehearsals have been so secretive... so hafta see what the Chinese host gonna showcase to 'WOW' the rest of the world. I'm sure it's gonna be a very Grand and Spectacular affair. :)
Initially, i thot the 福娃 were very 'cheena' to represent each of the 5 olympic rings but they kinda grow on you. :P

My favorite Sports in the olympics:
Diving: was hooked on Diving when watching the very handsome Greg Louganis in the 1988 Seoul Olympics. It's the way the divers execute the somersaults in such impeccable accuracy and yet with such gracefulness, it's Beautiful!
Swimming: even watching the competition on the TV, you can also sense the adrenaline and the mood of the crowds as the swimmers touch the finish line in record time.
Gymnastics: also started getting hooked on gymnastics from the 1988 Seoul Olympics where Vladimir Artemov and his Soviet Union teammates swept almost every gold medals.
Volleyball: probably coz the tv stations in sg don't broadcast volleyball competitions vs the more lucrative sports like golf, football, tennis, basketball, etc... so, i only get to watch high quality volleyball matches during olympics.
... can't wait for the action packed games =)
