New Heart

뉴하트 / New Heart is a drama series revolving around the cardiothoracic surgeons in a University Hospital. Some of the issues/ dilemmas faced by the Drs in the show are very real... the actors were really good in making the viewers feel for the characters...

~ The Hospital Director who is so profit oriented that he loses sight of the basic role of his organization despite being a trained medical professional himself.

~ Which fraternity or alumni the Dr belongs to, determines his career path

~ The Dr who goes against all odds to save the life of the patient but ended up getting sued

~ The dedicated Dr who gives his all to his patients at the expense of spending quality time with family.

~ The Dr's wife who finally gets enlightened that her hubby is like a "Candle" - giving all he has to bring light to others' lives (based on the chinese subtitles that I was watching)

~ The scheming surgeon to find ways and means to keep his track record clean (i.e. high success rates) ... which is pretty true coz that's what patients usually look for when asking for referrals.

~ It may be the end of the Dr's promising career with possible threats of being infected by tainted blood; or having their hands injured and not being able to continue as a surgeon.

~ The Dr learning when to let go and not blame himself for this patient's death (when it's not attributed to the surgeon's fault/mistake)

Really enjoyed this drama and i cried quite a lot while watching :Pp It's not those tearjerkers, but there are several touching moments.. i usually watch the videos uploaded in the internet with English subtitles.. but ended up in www.56.com for the videos with Chinese subtitles coz couldn't wait to find out the ending. The folkz @ 56.com are much more efficient in uploading the latest videos. On average, the lag time is about 2 days after the episode was aired in Korea. *impressed*
