Hakone 箱根
A mountainous town, a favorite location by the locals for a quick getaway from the busy hustle and bustle of crowded Tokyo city.
Breathtaking view of the Majestic Mt Fuji.. thanks to the excellent weather. Must be God's answer to our fervent prayers. :P
Lazy afternoon cruise on the calm beautiful lake Ashi. Leisurely walk along the ancient tokaido highway lined by the towering cedar trees and also the Palace Garden... the pace is definitely so much slower than Tokyo.
My First Time...
# Soaking in outdoor Hotspring, sipping Sake, enjoying the beautiful view of Mt Fuji in Winter... PERFECT BLISS :)
# Eating piping hot Blackened Eggs cooked by the hot steam from the Owakudani Valley... for each egg you eat, it adds 7 yrs to your lifespan!
# Taking different modes of transport all within 24hrs - Express Train, Cruise ship, Gondola, Cable Car, Walking, Bus.. in such a small place..
The most convenient way to reach the hotel is by the Ropeway Gondola, the Obaku station is just a stone's throw away. However, the last ride ends at 1615hr... even Cinderella has it better than us, at least her 'curfew' is midnite! *bleah* Anyhow, thanks to the "curfew", we slept, we visit the hotspring bath (me 2x; A went 3x), and ate sumptuous japanese kaiseki dinners. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay especially the Hotspring Bath! Worth every cent that we paid. :)

Did you do the hotspring bath the truly jap way? = Only with the teeny weeny modesty towel??
Yupz :)
I'm used to naked bodies walking around... u get that in the gym locker room. :P
Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Which tour company did you join?
YES! Thoroughly enjoyed the trip. :)
Didn't join any tour.. except the day trip to Nikko with Sunrise Tours.
Prefer to go Free & Easy on our own, can schedule our itinerary depending on our mood for the day. :) Then join a day tour here and there, so that we get learn more tidbits & history of the places.
Will consider packaged tour by Insight Vacation if going Egypt... saw their itinerary, looks kinda interesting. :)
