Evolution vs Revolution

*found the above pix from here.
Evolution: \ˌe-və-ˈlü-shən\ a process of gradual and relatively peaceful social, political, and economic advance
Revolution: \ˌre-və-ˈlü-shən\ a sudden, radical, or complete change ; a fundamental change in the way of thinking about or visualizing something : a change of paradigm
... sheesh .. now i got labeled as "radical" and "revoluntionary"?! It's not a radical change to set the fundamentals right. When you build a house, you need to make sure the foundation solid so that it won't collapse. Thot that's common sense!!? *sulkz*

Just finished NEXT by Michael Crichton. Just read his biography... wow, he's a trained medical professional-turned filmmaker & writer. This latest book is a thriller based on "real life genetic, law and ethical aberrations". The story seems so real, as he weaves in actual news articles about the shamed korean researcher, and publications on medical research, etc that we've read in recent years. Makes you start thinking if all these are really happening in those research labs and facilities, given the big hooha on biotechnology and genetic engineering as we look to genetic research for medical cures and therapies. And you also start thinking about the Creationist vs Evolutionary theories. Are we playing God?
In the Author’s Note, Crichton shared his detailed conclusions after doing his research for NEXT.
1. Stop patenting genes.
2. Establish clear guidelines for the use of human tissues.
3. Pass laws to ensure that data about gene testing is made public. He’s referring to results of gene therapy trials.
4. Avoid bans on research.
5. Rescind the
Bayh-Dole Act (that allows universities to patent and make money off their research).

Wonder when they gonna make this into a movie. :P
