The World is Flat (II)

Watched The Bourne Ultimatum recently.
Have always been fascinated with such thriller stories that spans the globe... :) Some of the stuff in the movie hints on some possible scenarios... Conspiracy Theory aside regarding those street bombs and assasinations in broad daylight, not necessary the works of terrorists... Something hit home: Traceability and Anonymity
In this age of High Technology and connectivity, you will be tracked down very easily..

1. Transfer Your Funds from Country X to Country Y --> they know where u are planning to escape to... and will be there before u reach the destination.
2. Switch On your Mobile Phone --> They can pinpoint your location thru' GPS and satellites. And they also have access to your calls and smses.
3. Switch Off your Mobile Phone --> They can narrow down WHOSE mobile phones were uncontactable at that particular period of time. End up with 3 names, even easier to trace!!

SCARY Thot, isn't it?
Here's more:
4. Credit Cards <-- Everytime you zap your credit card, a profile is built up over time about your lifestyle, preferences, and locations. And this information is highly demanded by the retailers, companies, banks, etc. 5. Online Name Directories [Facebook, Friendster,LinkedIn, etc..] <-- a random google on your name and a total stranger gets to know your entire life history of where u studied, where u work, who u know, how u look like, where u travelled! *shudderz*

Hmmm... maybe that Fugitive Lawyer is a Fan of Jason Bourne! The CIA folkz were unable to trace J.B's whereabouts unless he intentionally wanted them to know of his whereabouts.
Personally, i think if it concerns National Security, the relevant authorities have the necessary means to track down the fugitive. If the crime is not of Priority Importance or Threat.. it'll take a while to close the case.
