NOT because I've got loads of monies. (I wish!)
Not trying to cook up an excuse to have a new wallet. :P
It's cluttered with all sorts of cards. :(
Used to laugh at frens who have fat, bulky wallets/purse. They seem to have a hobby of collecting every single credit cards available in the mkt; membership cards; discount cards, etc.
Actually, mine is not exactly a wallet, it's a namecard holder wth those plastic slots for the cards. I've given up finding a compact wallet that can hold so many cards, so have resorted to splitting between the cardholder and the keypouch. Then when overseas, it's another pouch for the foreign currencies. If i suay suay lost one *touch wood* i can still survive with the other as backup. Smart, ya? :P
Already throwing away those "collect 10 stamps get free gift" kind of cards from Gramaphone, Spinelli, Origins, Crystal Jade Bakery, Cold Storage, etc... but still not enough space in the cardholder, leh...
Lemme count the # of cards in most pple's wallets these days:
- Credit Cardssssss
- ATM cardsss
- Cash Card
- EZ Link Card
- Driver's License
- NRIC/FIN card
- Membership Cardsss (Clubs, Hotels, Krisflyer)
- Staff Access Card
- Emergency Medical Cardss
- Shopping Discount Cardsss
As we strive towards the Cashless Society, we seem to replace the cold hard cash with plastic cards? All in the name of convenience? or izzit the opposite?
So, the people who design the wallets, are not in sync with the trend? Usually, wallets come with just 4 or 5 slots for cards. Or are we, the normal folkz, too caught up with the 'fashion' in collecting cards? Maybe we should try out just keeping only 4 or 5 essential cards in our wallets as intended by the designers?
If can survive very well with just cash + 1 (or 2) credit cards, when you are overseas? Then logically, all the more you should be able to do likewise at home, ya? : )
