Ain't No Mountain High Enough

... More like an Accidental Trekker, than an avid mountain climber :P
There were not many things to do @ Fort William. When you look out the window from the hostel, it's Ben Nevis!
So, we decided to spend the day trekking the mountain and see if we can spot any sheep or deer or smthg. Never intended to go all the way to the snow-capped Peak!!!

We started after a heavy breakfast @ the hostel. You see people of all ages trekking. On our way up, we didn't have an end goal in mind.. We knew that we were not properly attired for mountain climbing: cross training shoes, a bottle of coke, a bar of Mars chocolate in our backpack.

Somewhere at mid-level of the mountain region, there's a small lake where most folkz with kids stopped to have a brunch picnic. There rest of us continue our way up. The weather was absolutely fantastic. At one stage, it was so warm that we 'stripped' till only t-shirt even tho' it was Spring in scotland. Probably because we happen to be the only 2 asian faces there, so people were especially frenly to us. : ) One thing led to another and we found ourselves on the snow-covered peak. :P

When we got back to the youth hostel, we were given a stamp on our YHA passbook, to prove that we climbed Ben Nevis. : ) However, it was pure torture the following day. We could hardly walk straight with our wobbly legs, and the muscles were aching badly. *bleah*

Back @ Stratford-Upon-Avon, we were bragging about our adventure on Ben Nevis, UK's highest mountain. Fren's sis and bro-in-law nearly freaked out coz a few days before we arrived Ben Nevis, someone fell off the mountain due to the poor visibility, and weather. Yikes! what a close shave... it's always such reminders that make me count my blessings and know that He sends the angels to look after me. : )
