The Spa

Just realized that I've got another hobby! : )
The 1st thing I do when I check into a hotel/resort is to check out the Spa facilities for some "Pamper your Body" sessions. It all started with the regular traveling for biz trips that are packed with countless meetings scheduled back-to-back. The idea of a soothing massage to end the day sounds really enticing especially after a l-o-o-o-n-n-g day's work. And the best thing is, going to the Spa keeps you away from the shopping district i.e. you won't spent unnecesary monies on useless stuff. : )

So now, be it on a biz trip or personal leisure trip, it becomes a habit to 'study' the spa menu 'religiously'. :P

Lurve the Body Scrubs! The skin feels baby soft after the scrub...
Green Tea & Crushed Rice Body Scrub
Green Tea, long revered for its antioxidant properties, is the cornerstone of this amazingly fresh body scrub. Crushed rice, green tea extract, green tea leaves and bamboo powder combine in a Thai-inspired treat that sloughs dead skin cells to reveal fresher, healthier looking skin and leave you feeling remarkably soft without oily residue.

~ feels more ticklish than the 'sloughed scrubby' feel actually

Javanese Lulur

Originating in the palaces of Java as a bride's preparation for marriage. Made from rice powder, tumeric, sandalwood and other spices, this renowned scrub polishes the skin silky smooth. Finished off with a yogurt splash to neutralize the skin.
~ the yellow coloring requires some effort to wash off
~ learnt my lesson, don't be gungho and get this kinda scrub when you are sunburnt! Painful.

Honey Sesame Healer
A sweet, gooey scrub made from golden honey and black sesame seeds that is ideal for dry to normal skin. The sesame seeds gently exfoliate your skin, while honey, a natural remedy, aids in healing of wounds and promotes new cell growth.

~ doesn't feel "gooey" at all, but can be quite messy.
~ Don't try it @ home, just buy those less messy, off-the shelf body scrubs from Origins, The Body Shop, The Natural Source

Sea Salt Scrub
Natural sea salt is combined with scented essential oils to provide a stimulating body rub. While the salt gently polishes the skin, the oils nourish it, bringing the glow back to our skin.

~ the 1st time i tried, thot my skin's gonna turn out very raw and was wondering if my skin would still be intact from the intensive scrubbing. :P
~ was very impressed with the glowing result :)

The massage soothes the tensed muscles, and fatigue caused by jetlag...
Balinese Massage
Used for centuries to renew, strengthen and heal both body and mind, this deep tissue massage technique combines stretching, long strokes, skin rolling, and palm and thumb pressure techniques to soothe aching muscles, aid blood circulation and relieve tension, improve blood flow, ease stress and calm the mind. The invigorating sensation of this therapy is enhanced by the warming properties of specially blended oils.

Swedish Massage
A classical massage using kneading, deep friction and persuasive movement to improve circulation and ease muscular aches and pains. Essential oils are used.

Polynesian Massage
A massage comprising of gentle rocking movements, long flowing strokes and relaxing stretches. A totally renewing experience, for your body and soul. Essential oils are used.

... Yet to try the lomi-lomi massage and the thai massage (spa version) ... not the traditional thai that the massage therapist stretches and contort your body until you can hear your bones cracking!... : )
