Life can be a maze...It can also be totally amazing

I walk the maze of moments
But everywhere I turn to
Begins a new beginning
But never finds a finish
I walk to the horizon
And there I find another
It all seems so surprising
And then I find that I know

Chorus:
You go there you're gone forever
I go there I'll lose my way
If we stay here we're not together
Anywhere is

The moon upon the ocean
Is swept around in motion
But without ever knowing
The reason for its flowing
In motion on the ocean
The moon still keeps on moving
The waves still keep on waving
And I still keep on going

Chorus

I wonder if the stars sign
The life that is to be mine
And would they let their light shine
Enough for me to follow
I look up to the heavens
But night has clouded over
No spark of constellation
No Vela no Orion

The shells upon the warm sands
Have taken from their own lands
The echo of their story
But all I hear are low sounds
As pillow words are weaving
And willow waves are leaving
But should I be believing
That I am only dreaming

Chorus

To leave the thread of all time
And let it make a dark line
In hopes that I can still find
The way back to the moment
I took the turn and turned to
Begin a new beginning
Still looking for the answer
I cannot find the finish
It's either this or that way
It's one way or the other
It should be one direction
It could be on reflection
The turn I have just taken
The turn that I was making
I might be just beginning
I might be near the end

Open Heart + Open Mind

This sculpture has always been a popular reference point when arranging to meet up with lunch kakis, or with pals for dinner/drinks @ Boat Quay... all these years, always thot the artist was paying tribute to Newton's discovery of gravity with that apple. Until when I was helping to draw up the pit-stop clues for our mini "Amazing Race in Raffles Place" that I realized what this artist was trying to present... I'm impressed with the artist's insightfulness.

Salvador Dali's "Homage to Newton"
The open torso of the figure and the suspending heart represent Open-heartedness. The open head represents an Open-mind
... the two necessary qualities for the discovery of important natural laws as well as for success of all human endeavours.

Hit Me With Your Best Shot

Cool stylo-mylo Gear + HiTech Tennis Racquet ... The cool, sporty image crumbles into bits when the Game starts... hehe :P

It doesn't count that you can sprinkle shots down the line, and occasionally hit cunning returns with wicked angles coz...

  • Service Game <-- Non-existent
  • Backhand <-- Inconsistent
  • "Gotta keep your eyes on the ball. FOCUS"
  • "Gotta RUN for the ball"

... so back to the basic "Bounce- Hit, Bounce-Hit" routine... *sighz*

CLAY:
just too Messy.. and that Snobbish Club has stringent dresscode. Nowadays, even the professional players don't wear "All White" @ Wimbledon! I wonder if the diners at the terrace having their pratas will have additional "ingredients" in their food and drinks on windy days? :P

SYNTHETIC GRASS:
low bounce, but soggy on wet days. Can twist your ankle more easily if not careful with your footwork on this surface.

SYNTHETIC/RUBBERIZED (?):
too bouncy. Not fun when the player across the net keeps lobbing the ball!

HARD:
So, stick with the good ol' all-weather HARD court. : )

Kiwis 'Freefall' to Extinction

According to this 1999 report, "The kiwi has all the hallmarks of a species heading for extinction" ... and I think I'm now beginning to understand WHY...

Hmmm... Enlightenment? (after 3 long years) :P

The Magic of Disney

Was in Anaheim 5 yrs ago... 2 over-grown kids having fun in Disneyland... brought back sweet childhood memories. : )

The best part was during nite time, the spectacular Grand Finale Fireworks display just before closing time... the weather was chilly (Nov time) and the soap suds and bubbles falling from the sky... so Fairytale like, so Romantic, so Magical... : )

Will definitely go back again... I think everyone should visit Disneyland 3 times:

(1) as a 7yo kid;
(2) in your carefree swinging 20s to relive your childhood,
(3) as a parent bringing the kids

... Different stages of your life, different experience. : )

p/s: hehe.. but i'll only visit Disneyland in the USA coz i grew up with Mickey & co speaking English. Not comfy with Mickey speaking Cantonese, Japanese, and French :P

Horoscope

This week's horoscope says:
"So things are a little unsettled -- is that so bad? Appreciate all the room to maneuver that being in this space gives you. Things will solidify soon enough. What's the big rush? Enjoy contemplating all the possibilities."

Hmmm...... Patience?
